Shark Attacks Encinitas Surfer

An Encinitas surfer suffered minor injuries Wednesday evening after being attacked by a shark near Moonlight Beach.

After six weeks of hunting and gathering with no interuptions, the shark was obviously pissed city officials reopened the ocean Monday morning.

According to Encinitas lifeguard Capt. Larry Giles, medics took the unidentified victim to Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas for treatment of minor injuries.

As a result of the incident, a two-mile stretch of the beach has been temporarily closed.  No word whether or not there will be a protest.
