After catching fire in October 2018, PB Denny’s is gone forever.

Despite being one of highest grossing Denny’s in the country, the franchisee couldn’t work out a deal with its current landlord, according to reports.  So San Diego.  Where will revelers go to “soak up the alcohol” with cheap eats after a night of partying?

“It makes no sense for them to lease to a single-story Denny’s when they could build a three-story building on that corner, including the property they own next door with the Mexican restaurant. I can’t blame them. It’s the most valuable corner in all of PB, so one user can’t just be on that property” the franchisee told the Beach & Bay Press.

Opened in 1966, the iconic location on the corner of Garnet and Mission Blvd was cited in the unauthorized bio, Angel Standing By: The Story of Jewel.  According to Pacific Beach lore, Jewel would allegedly wash her hair in the bathroom sink of the PB Denny’s.  As she exited, patrons would laugh her off as a dirty hippy, not knowing she would soon be topping the charts with the song “Who Will Save Your Soul?”

Not only was PB Denny’s serving Moons Over My Hammy, but, Grammy Award-winning stars.
