Surfrider San Diego’s signature awareness event, the Paddle for Clean Water, is the largest non-competitive surf event in California. This Sunday, October 6th, at 9 a.m., hundreds of participants will paddle their surfboards around the O.B. Pier in the name of clean water and healthy beaches in San Diego County.
Additionally, the free, family-friendly event features a pre-paddle beach yoga session, inspiring words from environmental leaders, free breakfast, raffles, and live music on the sand.
Yes, it’s not every day that you can kick it to live music at OB Pier. Every year, a local band donates their time to provide a soundtrack to the paddle around the pier. This year, it’s Paul Cannon + Iron Sage Wood. After the paddle, plan to jam out into the afternoon with a second local act, Band of Gringos. YEW’s Chris Cantore will serve as the event emcee.
The Paddle for Clean Water encourages everyone who loves the beach to come out, support, and have fun at this awesome community event.
