The powerhouse husband and wife restaurant team behind dining spots Wrench and Rodent Seabasstropub and The Whet Noodle, Davin and Jessica Waite, are bringing their new project to “SouthO”. The pair’s punk-rock aesthetic and the super creative “mad-scientist” vibe often attributed to Davin’s culinary creations have made them the darlings of the local food scene. Both San Diego Magazine and CityBeat gave Wrench and Rodent nods for best sushi and we have high hopes for their new project.
Meet The Plot, a plant-based, zero-waste restaurant concept scheduled to open later this year in Oceanside. The concept is simple – offer great tasting plant-based food in a friendly, accessible community space while reducing waste and supporting local and regenerative farming. Totally NBD. The Plot’s menu is set to include a variety of bowls, tacos, soups, salads and sushi for breakfast and lunch and a full dine-in dinner experience. You can also expect to find coffee and tea selections, juice and smoothies and an assortment of craft beer, wine and sake.
Team Plot just launched an indiegogo campaign to raise some of the funds for construction. While they were hesitant about crowdfunding at first, they eventually “realized how cool the concept really is. Crowd-raising levels the playing field for small businesses, and allows a community to come together to create positive change.”
