For Sale: Billie Joe Armstrong Surf Van

Heads up Green Day fans, YEW could own a Billie Joe Armstrong surf van.

Currently owned by New Zealander Graham van de Laar, the 1961 Chevrolet Greenbrier van was last purchased via auction website Trade Me. The owner says the van was imported into New Zealand from California in 2012.

Today, the punk rock surf van, which is signed by non-surfer Armstrong on the glove box, is back up for auction on Trade Me — with a starting price of $37,995 and a ‘buy now’ price of $39,995.

“It is very unique as it is likely to be the only one on the road in NZ, and the only one in the world that was once owned by GREEN DAY frontman Billie Joe Armstrong!” says van de Laar’s listing.

To prove its authenticity, the van includes a copy of the State of California Certificate of Title with Armstrong’s name on it.

Needless to say, it’s the ultimate surf vehicle.  Now, got 40K YEW can lend?
