For the first time in the Los Angeles hard rock band’s history, Guns N’ Roses is playing Tijuana’s Estadio Caliente on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
“Mexico we’re coming for you,” the band posted on Facebook.
Best known for being the home of the football (AKA soccer) team Club Tijuana, Estadio Caliente stadium is located on the south-east side of Tijuana, about 5 miles from the border.
With a capacity of about 27,500, the multi-use stadium is no stranger to hosting live music. Artists such as Shakira, Maná, Luis Miguel, Gloria Trevi, Megadeth, and Alejandro Sanz have performed at the stadium.
For Guns N’ Roses, the Tijuana show is only the fifth date the band has announced in 2019. Other dates include Guadalajara, the Louder Than Life Festival, Austin City Limits and Exit 111 Festival.
For fans north of the border, you can drive directly to Estadio Caliente, or walk across and take a taxi (for about $15.) After the show, want to keep the party going? The Caliente casino and dog track is right next door. YEW!
