Actor Seth Rogen (and his writing partner Evan Goldberg) announced Wednesday the launch of Houseplant, a recreational Canadian cannabis company in partnership with Ontario-based Canopy Growth Corp. Prior to this collab, the Hollywood heavy hitters have teamed up on films including Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Interview.
“Houseplant is a passion we’ve brought to life through drive and dedication,” said Rogen in a press release. “Every decision we’ve made for the business reflects the years of education, first-hand experience and respect we have for cannabis.”
Houseplant’s Instagram features a 1970s-inspired infomercial (below) narrated by Rogen explaining the differences between the three cannabis categories: sativa, indica, and hybrid.

“We have been getting to know the Houseplant team for quite a while now and continue to be impressed by their understanding of the cannabis consumer, attention to detail, and drive towards their vision,” said Mark Zekulin, president and CEO of Canopy Growth Corp. “We could not be more excited to partner with them and work towards our shared goal of making Houseplant one of the largest cannabis brands in the world.”
The company’s first strain, Houseplant Sativa, will debut in early next month followed by Houseplant Hybrid and Houseplant Indica, along with softgels and pre-rolled joints.
