Take your foodie dad on a trip to the desert

Maybe the last thing you want to do during a heat spell in Southern California is visit the desert.

Unless you’re a foodie — and you know that the Coachella Valley has some pretty decent grub. Better yet, maybe you have a foodie dad and you want to do something really cool for Father’s Day.

Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week is in full swing and this coming Sunday, the 17-day dining event will come to a close. In all, more than 100 restaurants are participating.

Overall, the event showcases a wide variety of culinary experiences, and participating restaurants offer special menus at set prices with lunches available for $15, $20 or $25 and dinners for $29, $39 or $49.

According to the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau, “No passes, tickets or coupons are required … diners simply dine out at participating restaurants throughout the event.”

Advance reservations are strongly encouraged because this is a very popular event, but they will accept walk-ins.
