If you’ve ever had the inclination to jump into a wicker basket and let a hot air balloon lift you hundreds of feet into the air with no apparent direction in mind — you have a great chance to do so this weekend.
A hot air balloon flight during this weekend’s Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival (June 1-3) will give you the unique opportunity to take in the picturesque views of Temecula Wine Country while flying with 40 other balloons around you.
That’s something you can’t do any other time of the year.
Photographers will love the photo opportunities, potential grooms will nervously hope they don’t drop the ring, and selfie pros can get some epic snaps.
Flights are $225 per person and you’ll get admission into the festival for the day, a champagne, juice or water toast, a souvenir certificate, a 3-hour adventure and a 45-60-minute flight.
After you land — wherever it is the balloon decides to set you down — you can drink wine, lots and lots of wine (responsibly, please) for the rest of the day.
Flights take off on Saturday and Sunday only during the festival at 6:30 a.m. (approximate, weather permitting) and you have to book your flights in advance online at www.hotairtours.com or by calling 1-800-965-2122.
For those that aren’t willing to let the balloon take them any which way the wind blows, you can try a free tethered flight (after the morning flights) for about 10 minutes, sponsored by Toyota.
For more information on the festival, visit www.tvbwf.com or call 951-676-6713.
