YEW! Another week, another epic taco here with the 52 Weeks of Tacos team. This week, we’re all over a South Bay classic: Tacos de Adobada (pictured above) at Tacos El Gordo in Chula Vista. No question, one of the best tacos in San Diego, the adobada is sweet and well-seasoned marinated pork — shaved off a rotating spit of meat — on a corn tortilla with chopped onions, cilantro, a mild salsa, and a creamy avocado spread.
So good, it’s stupid.
Tacos El Gordo has become well known for its authenticity, quality, and excellence which covers everything from food to service. Family owned and operated company since 1972, Tacos El Gordo de Tijuana B.C opened its first location in San Diego in 1998, and in 2010, expanded into Las Vegas.
