SCROJO, the poster artist responsible for creating vibrant and unique “gig posters” for San Diego’s Belly Up Tavern is the subject of a new short format documentary film entitled SCROJO: Scoundrel, Charlatan, Savant.

Premiering at the Belly Up Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 8 p.m. (with live music from Schizophonics Soul Revue and a Q&A with SCROJO himself,) the film introduces us to San Diego native SCROJO, or “Craig,” once a performing musician, now a prolific self-taught artist / graphic designer heavily influenced by surf culture, hot rods and punk rock.

Some find his work scandalous, while others revel in his questionable subject matter

Having designed posters for the Solana Beach musical fixture for over 30 years, SCROJO wears the dual hats of artist and marketer. With his keen eye, sense of whimsy, and punk-rock sensibility, Scrojo finessed his own unique artistic style, capturing the musical essence of each artist while persuasively promoting their message to audiences worldwide.
