Happy Taco Tuesday YEW Crew! Is it just us, or is Taco Tuesday even sweeter post a three day weekend?

Week 8 of 52 Weeks of Tacos is here, and with it comes some uncharacteristically low temps for us San Diegans. Winter, is that you? Bitter wind, dry skin, we’re flying into the week firmly in the mid 50’s. Call us crazy, but this chill has got us craving some comfort food in the form of a taco. Meet Karina’s Ceviches & More and their Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Taco, here to lure us out of our winter blues with a spin on Surf and Turf that is stuffed (literally) with goodness. We’re talking massive shrimp grilled just right, wrapped in thick cut bacon, stuffed to the brim with cream cheese and serrano peppers all before it hits the fryer to achieve that crunch of perfection. Yeah, let that really sink in. Everything good, tucked into a blanket of hot, fresh-to-order tortilla, cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro and a spicy mango sauce. This is one taco that will warm your heart, soul, and taste buds without a doubt. YEW! Tip: Karina’s ceviche is a must try and their ahi ceviche tostada (with chunks of fresh ahi, sesame oil, red chili flakes pickled red onions, cilantro, and spicy mayo) will take you back to summer days, first bite.

With locations all over the county now, Karina’s Mexican seafood empire started in 1981 as a way for owners Don Arnulfo Contreras and María Inés Curiel to provide for their six kids. Fast forward to present day, they’re proudly serving Baja-inspired seafood all throughout San Diego, including Karina’s Ceviches & More in Mission Hills, where you can snag this crave-worthy comfort taco. Pair tonight’s order of a Bacon Wrapped Taco with one of Karina’s beer-to-go options, some Clamato mix, a Surf and Turf taco (grilled shrimp and rib eye steak) and you’ll be feeling toasty in no time. Yew!
