Happy Taco Tuesday guys! It’s week 7 of 52 Weeks of Tacos here at YEW! Every week, we’ll profile a different taco in San Diego County and beyond! Today: Scallop Taco at El Zarape.

In honor of tomorrow being Valentine’s Day, we thought there’d be no better way to celebrate Taco Tuesday (and lay the groundwork for an epic night) than with an aphrodisiac taco. That’s right, we’re talking tacos that leave you feeling frisky, or at the very least satisfy your every (taco) craving – what a time to be alive.

Last minute planners, relax: YEW!’s got you. A to-go plate piled high with tacos, a favorite beach lookout, and a dynamite sunset might just be the best recipe for a romantic Valentine’s Day, San Diego style. Not convinced? Let’s check out these scallop tacos.

Wine and dine your Valentine with University Height’s beloved El Zarape’s Scallop Taco ($3.25): Small bay scallops (major mood setters) seared to tender perfection topped with salsa fresca, a healthy heaping of shredded cheese and a crema served on a hot, fresh-to-order corn tortilla.  Absolutely ridiculous and packed full of flavor, this is one seafood taco you don’t want to miss out on. Add a dollop of guacamole or a couple slices of fresh avocado for some added aphrodisiac power (you read that right: avocado promotes sexy time with its energy boosting B vitamins!) and enjoy.

To really ensure that home run, throw in a lobster burrito – packed full of juicy, pink chunks of fresh lobster meat ($6.50) and call it a night. A really, really good night.

YEW! Tip: Should your date night turn overnight, head back to El Zarape for their breakfast burrito supreme, it’s the real deal.
