A legend in the Spanish surfing scene, Aitor Francesena, the blind surfer, lost sight in his right eye to congenital glaucoma at the age of 14. Years later, a surfing accident cost him his left eye, leaving him completely blind — BUT, his love for surfing never faded.
“When you stand up on a wave, you forget everything that’s bad”
Today, Francesena continues to shred by using his hearing to judge the motion and size of the waves. And if that wasn’t inspiring enough, he’s giving back to the surfing community by organizing surf clinics for others with disabilities — turning dreams into reality.
