Don Carlos Taco Shop
For 35 years, Don Carlos Taco Shop has been a family-owned La Jolla, CA landmark.
Opened in 1983 by Costa Rican immigrant Carlos Herrera Sr., Don Carlos has established a loyal following of locals, surfers, tourists and celebrities — including Jimmy Buffet who stopped by after surfing North Pacific Beach.
In 2001, ownership of Don Carlos Taco Shop changed hands to Carlos’s neice Seidy Hill. Since then, Seidy, her children Ryan, Jyle and Cassie and the rest of the Don Carlos family are committed to providing the La Jolla community with amazing food, refreshing drinks, and a friendly atmosphere for the whole family.
