Solana Beach wants a skatepark.
So much so, the Solana Beach Skatepark Fund was established by community residents to provide funding for a city-approved skatepark at La Colonia Park.
In addition to funds already donated by the Tony Hawk Foundation, roughly $200,000 is needed to break ground in 2017.
In an effort to help drive funds, Solana Beach mainstay Belly Up Tavern is hosting a series of benefit shows at the legendary venue. This Thursday, Sully & The Blue-Eyed Soul Band, a group of Grammy Award winning and Tony Award nominated musicians, will throw down a collection of smooth R & B jams to benefit the Solana Beach Skatepark Fund.
Hosted by YEW’s Chris Cantore, tickets are $12 (in advance) and the first 150 people through the door — starting at 7:30 p.m. — will receive a FREE drink ticket.
